Hillcrest Mother's Day Out will continue to operate and serve the Brazos Valley community as it's done since 1994 - for over 30 years!

As a ministry, the mission of Hillcrest Mother’s Day Out is to provide Christ-centered, quality, early childhood education for children as a part of the vision and mission effort of the church. The goal of our program is to nurture the development of each child spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially through learning and developmentally appropriate experiences consistent with the Christian principles of the church.

  • 3 Months - PreK

    Children who are 5 are eligible for our PreK classrooms.

We offer a Summer Program filled with arts, crafts, water days, music, field trips, and more.

With the addition of Elementary classes, we have your kiddos covered from 3 months all the way to 4th grade (completed).

  • We desire that all employees of Hillcrest MDO hold beliefs that are consistent with the mission and vision of Declaration Church. Staff are required to pass a federal background check, attend 15 hours of training each school year plus staff development days, be current in CPR and First Aid training, and must be able to lift young children (no less than 40 pounds).

Meet the Team

  • Mrs. Kim is well into her third year serving as Director for Hillcrest MDO. She’s a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2010 and has always had a passion and heart for children. Her first job was at Hillcrest MDO when she was 15 years old, and it has been a full circle moment coming back to lead the program. She and her husband have two beautiful daughters that keep them on the go. She is dedicated to creating a positive, enriching, and Christ centered learning environment for both the children and staff. She believes children are a precious gift from God, and it is a privilege to be entrusted with their care here at Hillcrest MDO.

  • Ms. Zoe began working at Hillcrest MDO as a teenager during Summer programs and is now in her third full school year as a Teacher. She is a student at Sam Houston State University and has always had an interest in children and childcare. She finds joy watching her tiny students blossom into confident toddlers while they are in her care.

  • Ms. Alyssa enjoys reading and playing with her tiny students. When she’s not in the classroom, she is keeping up with her school studies. Her students love to pile in her lap while she does puppet story time.

  • Ms. Emery is an education major at Texas A&M University. She loves serving and learning in the church. Her friends, family, and faith are important to her. She enjoys playing outdoors and working on gross motor skills with her students, especially on the playground.

  • Mrs. Brown has been teaching at Hillcrest MDO for over 18 years. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and has experience teaching in the public education system for many years. She and her husband have three grown children and many wonderful grandchildren. She is passionate about learning through play and making her students’ Pre K year a memorable one.

  • Mrs. Debby has been at Hillcrest MDO for almost 20 years and taught in various capacities over this span of time. She is a wife, mother to three grown children, and “Mimi” to seven grandchildren (all of whom have attend Hillcrest MDO). She has a heart for children and enjoys watching students reach new milestones and grow in their knowledge of our Lord.

  • Mrs. Mackenzie has been teaching at Hillcrest MDO for two years and has a passion for creativity. She has a family of her own and is mother to two boys who keep her busy. She loves getting to teach her little students and seeing how much they grow during their time with her.

  • Ms. Jenaih has a heart for kids, and her students love chasing bubbles with her. She enjoys the interaction of playing at centers with them in the classroom. When she’s not in the classroom, she is keeping up with her school studies.

  • Mrs. Amy has been teaching at Hillcrest MDO for over two years. She has a degree in early childhood education and was an Early Intervention Specialist for seven years. She and her husband have been dedicated foster parents for 15 years and have four boys and one little girl of their own. She is passionate about her students’ growth and making their preschool experience an exciting time!

  • Ms. Kennedy is a student at Texas A&M University. She is a member of a local sorority where she volunteers a lot of her time. She enjoys working with children and engaging with them in the many fun lessons they do in their Pre K class.

  • Mrs. Jane has been teaching music at Hillcrest MDO for over 18 years. She is a wife, mother, and “Nana” to her precious grandchildren. Her passion for music started as a young girl and has carried her through over 40 years of teaching music to children. She looks forward to having fun, learning music, but most of all, praising God through worship with her students.

  • Mrs. Stephanie has been teaching at Hillcrest MDO for a year and both of her children have attended the program. She is a wife and mother to a precious son and daughter who bring her joy. She loves getting to know each one of her students as individuals and watching their little personalities develop during their time with her.

  • Ms. Kathryn is in her third year at Hillcrest MDO and is currently taking classes at Blinn College. She enjoys playing basketball in her spare time and is passionate about her faith. She enjoys getting to work with her students on their gross motor skills and incorporating new methods of play in the classroom.
